Edgar Allan Poe (born January 19, 1809 - died October 7, 1849 at the age of 40 years) is a poet, short story writer, editor, critic, and one of the leaders of American Romantic Movement. Known for works of his macabre, Poe was one of the early practitioners of the short story writing in the United States and the pioneering work of detective fiction and crime. He also received recognition for his contribution to the genre of science fiction. Poe died at the age of 40 years for reasons that are less clear, especially allegedly due to alcohol, drugs, cholera, rabies, and other things.


He was born as Edgar Poe in Boston, Massachusetts; he was orphaned shortly after her mother died at a young age after his father left them. Poe was then taken by John and Frances Allan in Richmond, Virginia, but they never formally adopted him. He enrolled as a student at the University of Virginia for one semester and did not continue due to cost. After enrolling in the army as an officer cadet and failed, leaving the family Allan Poe. Beginning his career began modestly, with a collection of short stories anonymously, Tamerlane and Other Poems (1827), referred to simply as 'the Boston'

Take this kiss upon the brow!
